The Candlelit Caverns of...J ;)

Haha, I haven't blogged in soooo long - been stupidly busy.

 

The costume is finished.  Completely finished.  Looks amazing.  Eyes, hair, outfit, shoes, glasses, Nerv ID... ;D  Very happy.  The wig's not fantastic, but at least it's there.  Wish the one I ordered had come, but hey.  Looking great :D

 

What else...Europe stuff is suddenly happening fast, which is great, I'm massively behind on assignments, which is less great, but not the end of the world.  Really enjoying my jodo classes...umm...want to make gingerbread.  But need to sleep.

 

Supanova starts tomorrow night.  Going to be great.  Going to the premiere of the new studio ghibli movie on Sunday night, which should be awesome.

 

Bought the bedspread today that I've wanted for the last year...really want the house to be finished so I can have my beautiful bedroom instead of a corner.

 

Must go sleep, anyhow.

I've finally figured out why it's so much harder to get everything done this year than last!  Last year I lived by myself and didn't sleep, this year I do sleep and have a whole house of people to distract me.  It worries me that it took me this long to figure that out, lol.

 

Big research assignment due on Tuesday for history.  I haven't really started as such.  I have 16 books in a big pile on my topic, and that's it.  Have been clinging to the idea that I could both get my readings done and finish my assignments but have given up, am abandoning my reading, and am going to go make a futile attempt at research.  Would help if my eyes would stay open.  Sooooooo tired.

 

Going to Reel Big Fish on Friday night.  May actually fall asleep.  So.  Tired.

 

Had jodo this morning...Getting better, slowly.  Love it, anyhow.  Good stuff.

 

Tomorrow - bluffing my way through an educ tut I've done no reading for, trying to remember the second half of King Lear that I haven't reread, then the excitement of ~8 hours to research before I fall asleep pathetically early as I appear to have lost the ability (or motivation?) to stay awake.

 

Oh joy.

 

Despite that rather bleak immediate outlook, I'm not actually in a bad spot.  Just tired.  And looking at a rather poor history assignment :P

Soooooooo tired.

 

Living at home with no private space is driving me mad.  Idea of moving out and in again *again* is too horrible to comprehend though.  Ah well.  Get there eventually.

 

Keep discovering more imminent (sp?) assignment deadlines.  Bloody uni.  Lol.

 

This, of course, means I'm falling massively behind on my costume schedule...think I may have to live with the skirt not being pleated.  Just not enough time.  So sad : (  Ah well, shall be awesome anyway.  Alternatively, could just work through the night whole of midsemester...maybe do that ; )  If Shona doesn't kill me for staying in and being boring :P

 

And now I am going to sleep.

Couple of interesting things today.  They're transferring the entire QDI courier staff so we'll be employed by someone else.  At least that means I won't have to work reception anymore, I guess.  Going to be working for QML now.  Lot of the old guys were very worried they were going to get sacked.  Which is fair enough.  One of those meetings where they sit there repeating 'there will be no redundancies' for an hour.  But hey.  Good to know.  Be paid a few extra cents per hour, report to someone else...doesn't sound like it's going to make a whole lot of difference.  Bit nervous, but work changes are meant to make you nervous :P  Not on your guard if you're not ; )  Just have to make entirely clear to my new supervisor that I am a casual because I have lots of holidays, and that's that.  Lol.  They need me *shrug*

 

My sister is at her first athene meeting atm :D  So proud :D  Hehe.  Following in my footsteps...lol :P  Told the girls to make sure they never back off 'cause of boys speaking over them, and to always be good and raise their hands to avoid being generally hated.  Thought that was not bad advice.  Also to stop being wimps and hiding from the boys (they were hiding over at girls' until 2mins before the meeting in case a boy spoke to them.  Pathetic :P).  They'll learn, anyway ;D  So proud! :D  Hehe.

 

Good day at uni...great tut's, fairly nothing-y lecture...posted Nic's birthday present...went to the optometrist and checked how my contacts are going...fencing was good...all round not bad.  Work tomorrow.  Must start urban history paper tonight...

 

And must see who's going to be in Adelaide so can cancel rooms...

 

And...sure there're lots of other things I need to do, lol, but can't remember.  Sounds about right, no? ; )

Have discovered the secret to eternal life.  It mainly involves working out 6 days a week :P  Have decided that dragging myself to the gym after work would be suicidal, but I figure I can live with one lazy day ; )  But yeah.  Happy.  Working out makes me feel good.  Also puts me in that weird intense, violent spot that I'm so much more fun in, lol.  'Tis great.  Got this line stuck in my head today, don't know where it's from (or if it's from anything, for that matter) - "we're going to fight, eat, drink and shag our way to eternity".  Won't get out of my head.  Fits, anyhow ; )  Life is fun :D  That said, 'fun' at the moment consists of no drinking and no sex, so half my mystery line's gone, lol.  Still.  Bought lingerie today, all Elle - 4 sheer ribbons pieces, and one...can't remember what it's called.  A lacy one.  *Gorgeous* white sheer ribbons negligee.  Awesome.  Also 3 vastly on sale Country Road dresses.  So that was lots of fun.  And working out is fun :D  It makes me feel violent, lol...in a good way.  "tear our pleasures with rough strife through the iron gates of life" style. Lol.  I'm not a ridiculous poetry nerd - my girls are studying Marvell.  Really :D

 

Costume is being less fun - pinned the hem to the right length, attached the fasteners, all perfect...then realised I'd completely forgotten to do the pleating.  Going to have to unpick most of the skirt.  Frustrating.  But hey.  I'll get it done.

 

Other than that...education assignment is driving me insane with bloody lecturer changing topic, but again, shall get it done.

 

Shona is turning into me, which is amusing.  Really.  I swear.

 

Anyhow.

 

Should go do something useful :P
